Norman Petty Studios
The Vault Series - Volume #4
songs – captured in high definition from the original master tapes
9 tracks previously unreleased *
6 panel, full color eco-wallet with session info on each track
We have another heapin' helpin' of '50s gems dug out of the
Petty Studio vaults
ranging from 1954 to 1959. Some are high priced and elusive 45 releases,
and we feature 9 unissued tracks that are guaranteed to
make you wonder why they were not released.
Yes, Buddy Holly is guest guitarist on a few of the tracks here...
recordings by Ivan and Jim Robinson get their first legit release in digital form!
Bob Church (brother of Terry "Church" aka Terry Noland) gets his overdue debut;
from an unmarked reel we discovered the Bowman Brothers with their take of "Mailman, Bring Me No More Blues",
Buddy & The Crickets were at the studio for their own session later in the evening and must have liked the song,
because they recorded their version of it just a few weeks later.
An unissued recording of Bob Montgomery with his take of "Down The Line"
made popular by "Buddy & Bob"...with very different lyrics!
Hope Griffith, Charlene Condray & Susan Levins represent the ladies in fine fashion...
Country swing, rockabilly, early rock & roll, R&B
with the collection ending off with an early stereo instrumental.
You can't buy ONE of these original 45s for less than the price of this CD....
over an hour of enjoyable '50s fun,
and an essential addition to your collection!
